Nerikomi Porcelain ring #22-30- colorful ceramic ring

The design element of these rings are made from colored porcelain. I first made several different colors of porcelain by mixing in mason stains to my white porcelain clay and wedge to completely incorporate the stains. I cut and layer these colored and white clays in a stack to make the multicolored "brick" of clay. This is a Japanese process called Nerikomi. I thinly sliced the clay and cut out shapes from the patterned clay. The interior of the band has a clear smooth glaze, some of the exterior bands are glazed some are not depending on design and how I needed to fire them. I've glazed most of the colored part of the ring but a few I've left unglazed.

SIZING~ With these being handmade and not perfect circles on purpose I've sized these to the closest whole number size. I can size more specifically in needed, just let me know.
